National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) is an apex development bank in India and was established in 1982.It has its headquarters  in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Other branches are all over the country. Its main focus was to uplift rural India by increasing the credit flow for elevation of agriculture & rural non farm sector . This bank basically provides credit facility for promotion and development of agriculture, small-scale industries, cottage and village industries, handicrafts and other rural crafts. It is also authorized to provide financial support to all other economic activities in rural areas, promote integrated and sustainable rural development and secure prosperity of rural areas. NABARD extends assistance to the government, the Reserve Bank of India and other organizations in matters relating to rural development.
